The deal for using Piepy and piepy.xyz, in plain English. It’s short because Piepy is simple: it runs on your Mac, it’s free, and your agents remain yours.

Your call
When you answer an agent from the notch, that answer is yours, just as if you’d typed it.
As it is
Piepy is young. Things can break or change, and it comes without guarantees.
Play fair
Don’t resell Piepy, pass off changed copies of it, or attack the site or the board.
By downloading, installing or using Piepy, or using piepy.xyz, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Piepy is an independent project (“Piepy”, “we” or “us”). If you don’t agree to these terms, please don’t use Piepy. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these terms on its behalf. You need to be at least 18 to use Piepy.
Piepy shows what your coding agents are doing, in your Mac’s notch, and lets you answer and jump to them.
It works with Code Puppy, Wibey and Cursor, and with cmux for jumping to panes and answering. Piepy isn’t made by, or affiliated with, any of them; their names belong to their owners, and we use them only to say what Piepy works with. When one of them changes how it works, part of Piepy may stop working until we catch up.
We give you a free, personal licence to install and use Piepy on Macs you own or control.
The licence is non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable, and lasts as long as you follow these terms. Piepy includes open-source components, such as Sparkle, that come with their own licences, and nothing here limits your rights under them.
Everything else, including the app, this website, the name Piepy, the critter, the mascots and our designs, belongs to us. These terms give you no rights to them beyond this licence.
Piepy runs on macOS 14 or later. It isn’t notarised by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm it once.
Installing an integration adds Piepy’s hook to that agent’s own config, after saving a backup.
Piepy adds its entries to ~/.wibey/hooks/hooks.json and ~/.cursor/hooks.json, and a plugin to Code Puppy, and leaves your own hooks as they are. Before every change it saves a copy of the file beside it. “Remove”, per agent or for all of them, takes Piepy’s parts out again.
Keep your own copies of configs you care about. Agents change their formats, and software can misbehave.
When you allow, deny or pick an option from the notch, you’re answering the agent yourself.
Piepy types your answer into the agent’s own pane, through cmux, exactly as if you had typed it there. What the agent does next, including any command you allowed it to run, is between you and your agent. Piepy doesn’t check, change or undo it.
Read before you allow
The notch shows what the agent sent, which can be cut short. If you’re not sure what an approval would let an agent do, jump to the session and read it there.
Use Piepy for yourself, and play fair with it, the website and the board.
Please don’t:
We’d love to hear from you on our board at piepy.userjot.com.
If you share ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Piepy without owing you anything for them. Using the board also means agreeing to UserJot’s terms.
Parts of Piepy rely on other companies’ services, which have their own terms.
Downloads and updates come from GitHub, the website runs on Vercel, and the feedback board and changelog run on UserJot. We’re not responsible for how those services work, and your use of them is also governed by their terms.
Piepy is provided free, “as is” and “as available”.
As far as the law allows, we make no promises that Piepy will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure or right for your needs, or that a status, a sound or a peek will always arrive, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
If something goes wrong, our responsibility is limited.
As far as the law allows, Piepy won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, code, profits or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Piepy or the website, including anything an agent did after you answered it.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us for Piepy in the 12 months before the claim (nothing, while Piepy is free) or ₹5,000. Nothing in these terms limits a liability the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
You can stop using Piepy at any time. We can stop offering it, or end your licence if you break these terms.
To stop, remove the integrations and delete the app; our Privacy Policy says how to remove everything it kept. Parts of these terms that should naturally last, such as ownership, the warranty disclaimer, the limitation of liability and governing law, still apply after you stop.
We may update these terms as Piepy grows.
When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we’ll also say so in the changelog before they take effect. If you keep using Piepy after that, you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
If a dispute comes up, please reach out on the feedback board first, and we’ll try to sort it out informally. If we can’t, it will be decided by the competent courts in India. If you use Piepy as a consumer outside India, you keep any protections your local law gives you that can’t be waived.
Questions about these terms? We’re glad to help.
Piepy’s feedback board on UserJot is the one place to reach us: questions, bug reports, ideas, and requests about your data. We aim to reply within a few days, and always within 30.
